"Mommy, I was trying to be quiet, but I couldn't because you were on the phone."

"It's nice to be quiet sometimes. Would you like for us to be quiet together for a few minutes?"

"Yes."

"Mommy!" (whispered)

"Yes?"

"I think we should think about something while we are being quiet."

"OK. What should we think about?"

"Cookies. Let's be quiet and think about cookies."

Except not right now. Right now he's fussing big time. Several days ago he started to express his discomfort with pooping by waking every morning around 4:00 to squirm and scream, just like his sister did at his age.

 

And now it would seem that he is going to do the same thing for several hours each evening, just like his sister did.

 

So, I'm praying that he doesn't have colic like his sister did.
